The device is a converter for signals from V.24/RS 232 interface to RS 485 and is used to connect devices equipped with a V.24/RS 232 interface to a standard dual cable line of the RS 485 interface. The converter allows serial asynchronous data exchange in a Half Duplex mode between the V.24/RS 232 interface and a network of devices with the RS 485 interface. A set of two RS-232 RS-485 converters can also be used to connect two devices with the V.24/RS 232 interface.
The unique feature of the converter is the simplicity of connection and configuration, allowing even inexperienced users to install the device.
The converter is also equipped with a hardware transmission direction switch (for RS-485) and allows five different transmission speed settings:
- 9600 baud
- 19200 baud
- 38400 baud
- 57600 baud
- 115200 baud
Computers recognise the converter as an additional COM port. The converter does not alter the structure of transmitted data in any way and is compatible with ASCII, MODBUS industrial communication protocols.
